K-Film: Phantom Detective/Tamjun Hong Gil-dong: Sarajin Ma-eul Review

Phantom Detective/Tamjung Hong Gil-dong: Sarajin Ma-eul
A man who works for a group for justice has no ID and no memory of who he is, just nightmares.  He tracks down his nemesis and along the way, someone kidnaps his prey before he could kill him for revenge.  Instead he meets his enemy's grandchildren and brings then along for bait, but as he searches for the missing grandpa he is faced with his true past.
It was an interesting film with an alluring plot. The story had various emotion through out the film. The main character reminds me of Sherlock Holmes, but can be more sinister and violent.  He two the two sisters that makes him more human.  The sisters acted really well and stayed strong even though their only family member was kidnapped. The relationship between the sisters and the grandpa reminds me of my relationship with my grandpa.  The affects are alluring along with the cinematography.  The editing really helped the magic of the film overall with slow motion.

---------------------------Spoiler Alert-------------------------------------------
Spoiler: it was touching how the grandpa really cares for his granddaughters and enjoys seeing them eat even if he works to the bones. It was heartbreaking to see the main character comes to care for the sisters, but he needs to revenge his mother.  He tries to spar the grandfather if he regrets what he's done, the grandpa doesn't regret what he did since he would do anything to save his daughter.  The grandpa is the one that killed the protagonist's mother. It was nice how they reuse scenes against the person who original said the line.  You can tell when the MC is lying but you don't know what would happen next.

Highly recommend the film.

Film and TV Show Recommendations

After I watch a Film or a TV show, I always list the name and the Director of the work.  At the end of the year, I count them all to see how many I've seen in that year.  These Films or TV shows are my Top works that I recommend. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Grand Budapest Hotel (Wes Anderson)      - Originally a novel, A Man narrates the story about his days of working as a Bell Boy at The Grand Budapest Hotel.  The Bell Boy also talks about the Concierge of the hotel.  I love the Cinematography of the film along with the interesting Story plot.  I feel like the Film's humor depends on the person's taste in humor.  The Humor was delivered through dialogue and action.  There are a few scenes that might not be appreciated by some people.  So, make sure you look closely at the rating of the film.  Hyouka (23 episodes) ...
