Pokemon Generation Series Review

Pokemon Generation, an anime series on Pokemon's Official Youtube Channel, plays out scenes from the Pokemon video games.  The first episode shows Pikachu traveling throughout all Pokemon regions, ending in Kalos Region (Pokemon X and Y).  The rest of the episodes are in chronicle order of the Pokemon regions corresponding to their game.  For instance Pokemon Red and Blue took place in the Kanto region, Pokemon Gold and Silver took place in Johto region, and etc.  You see recognizable characters and Pokemon throughout the series.  You will sometimes see the Playable character in the episode, but only a shadow of their figure or so.

The animation was sometimes different from other episodes, which made me believe that some of the episodes might be done by different people.  You can tell by looking at Inspector Looker who shows up many times through the series.  His look changes through the different episodes he appears. Looker looked different, hehe~ Sorry for the bad pun.

The animation looked really nice and different from the original Pokemon series.  Some episodes seem darker compare to the original anime series with Ash.  It felt like a series for Pokemon fans who grown up with the video game.  It was an intriguing series that shown aspects that we wouldn't see in Ash's anime series.

Even though the clips were short, it made you want to watch more.  It had a few interesting story plots, some showing more about the Evil Team's actions in their respective region.  Most of the episodes had a serious feel with some light-hearted moments.  Some touching moments between characters that you might not see in the video games.

The only problem I had with the series is that when you see the Playable trainer, it is usually the Male version.  You never see the Female Trainer, I know that some of them show up in the Ash's anime series, but still.  It would have been nice to see one of the Playable Female Trainers.

Overall, Pokemon Generation was a delightful series in showing scenes from the video games into animation.  I hope they do a season two of the series, maybe have Pokemon Sun and Moon episodes? Maybe see more of the Female Playable Trainer?  I hope so~
