T’Challa rises to the spot
of Wakanda’s King, but an outsider challenges T’Challa for the spot on the
throne. T’Challa learns the connection he has with the vengeful outsider.
Wonderful film with
amazing fighting, acting, and cinematography. It does take a while to get to
the main plot, but the scenes leading up to it helps set up the culture of
Wakanda used later in the film.
The main theme in ‘Black
Panther’ is responsibility and identity. Everyone had their own responsibility and the
choose to take the responsibility. Such as T’Challa is to his people as King,
but also for his Father’s actions. The
Antagonist, Killmonger has his own responsibility he takes in charge of and
some he chooses to not. Wakanda’s responsibility and identity was question in
the film. They discuss certain issues in ‘Black Panther’ and we see two
different ways in solving those issues.
Another Marvel film
where parts of the film was film in South Korea, this time Busan. It was cute
seeing Lupita Nyong’o speaking Korean~ The Director, Ryan Coogler, also worked
on the film ‘Creed’, which is a boxing film. Aspects from ‘Creed’ can be seen
in ‘Black Panther’ for the traditional fight for the Wakanda throne. Wesley
Snipes wanted to play as the Black Panther in the 1990s when approached by
Marvel, but during that time there was issues with the setting of the story,
political clashes, and limitations on effects in the films halted the project
for being finished during that time.
